Booster is recommended every 10 years in adult individuals.
However, a special situation can be considered in case of extensively lacerated open wound where tetanus globular also recommended. In such cases vaccine should be given.
Tetanus antibody titre can be checked in blood alternatively. If titre normal , vaccine not required
