Giving temporary crowns on same sitting is very much possible. The shade might not be perfect but it is good enough for you to go about your day for a few days till the permanent crown is fixed.
Next Steps
discuss your concerns with your dentist.

For size she will make an impression of ur teeth with material called alginates,or some materials are available in market which can be directly fabricated in pts mouth and regarding color,ur dentist will do that for sure so don't worry.

Temporary Crown should be ideally given in every case but practically there are other factors to be considered also. Please discuss the entire procedure before the treatment is started so that these queries should not remain as queries. A temporary Crown can be fabricated in the same sitting, it can never match the aesthetics perfectly but is sufficiently acceptable, especially for the front teeth wherein a smaller tooth will not allow you to smile comfortably in social interactions. Regards
