Babies may be fussy, drool more, chew on objects, or have swollen gums. They might show some reluctance to feed if gums are sore — especially with breastfeeding due to direct pressure on the gums.
Teething Does Not Cause: High fever, Severe crying or inconsolable irritability, Refusal to feed continuously, Loose stools or vomiting
If these are present, look for other causes such as ear infection, oral thrush, sore throat, or viral illness.

Try cool, clean teething toys before feeding to soothe gums.
Offer breast when baby is calm or sleepy, when they’re less resistant.
Use gentle massage on gums with a clean finger.
If baby bites while feeding, unlatch gently and try again later

The symptoms described are suggestive of oral thrush, common in bottle fed babies but can occur in breast fed babies too.
You have not mentioned if the baby is breast feeding or is on bottle
For breast fed baby I will suggest that you check if any problem is there in your nipple - cut, injury or any fungal infection. Meanwhile, also check for baby’s mouth for any small areas of while patch/ streak which doesn’t go away on cleaning. You may mistake the milk coating for an oral thrush but oral thrush cannot be cleaned with a cloth. This is often difficult to decide so easier way is to go for its treatment
Next Steps
Give Nystatin oral suspension 1 ml to inside of each cheek of baby half hour before feed ( or when you can) . Repeat 6 hourly. Baby swallows the medicine but don’t worry - it’s poorly absorbed. But effect is fast, you will be relieved much!
Health Tips
Continue nystatin for at least 48-72 hours after improvement in feeding. You will have to treat any breast / nipple infection too if that’s the case
