I brush regularly, don't smoke, drink 1-2 cups of coffee a day, but my teeth get these stains. Someone once told me that my saliva content can affect teeth staining. Any suggestions on managing and preventing this.

Thank you for your question. There are many multifactorial reasons for teeth staining. Coffee/tea can also be one of the reasons. There have been some studies that do link saliva to staining. The most common cause of staining is fluorosis (presence of excessive fluoride in saliva), but these stains are usually present from when the tooth has erupted. Only after a detailed examination can the cause be determined.
