TB patient with Diabetes
Dear Doctor, mother is diagnosed with tb under att since 2 months still AFB +1 positive, their is Blood in sputum , refer with treating doctor, she told it due activeness of disease is it correct ?

There can be sputum positive even in DSTB. Even though you need to test for drug resistance. Your sputum sample will be sent for DR pattern automatically if you are registered and taking treatment under government sector. If DRTB, treatment will change. For Hemoptysis, yes it may be due to active TB and you need to go for CECT if you are affordable. Take online consultation for better evaluation and treatment.

get her dst done..to rule out drug resistant tb..also share her cxr or ct..she may need additional meds
