tarsal tunnel syndrome and plantar fasciitis are two different conditions
The tarsal tunnel is caused by a compression of the nerve and causes pain, tingling or numbness in the foot. Where as in plantar fasciitis It involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of each foot and connects the heel bone to the toes (plantar fascia).
