The principle of Taping technique is, "to restrict a movement that stretches an injured tissue." This gives time to the tissue to relax and heal by its own, at the same time not immobilising the involved joint.
If properly done, it can decrease the pressure or load on the cartilage, which will help it to recover at fairly good speed. Static muscle exercises are recommended for you.
For further assistance visit a physiotherapist who also practices taping. Thank you, get well soon.
