If the gums of the lady are swollen then first and foremost visit a dentist to let diagnose the reason for the swelling, most probably it's because of the periapical abscess in the root region of teeth. For this firstly an IOPAR X-RAY is advisable, after determining the cause of the swelling if it's because of periapical abscess then either Root canal treatment or extraction of the teeth is advisable.
