Hi there...the pain could be still present because the inflammation might not have reduced completely. Or the muscle sprain/injury might not have completely healed. Sometimes there might be slightly dislocation or fracture. In such a situation a cast/splint and complete rest for a few weeks will be required. But a diagnosis can be made only after clinical examination and x rays if needed. So kindly consult a orthopedic for further evaluation
