Swelling in one hand (complete arm)
Hi! My mom's one arm is swelled up. This happened suddenly. Post colour Doppler test, the doctor suggested that this is an infection. He prescribed Clamcheck 625 (7 days - 2 tabs per day) along with couple of other supporting meds. It's been 2 days but no improvement as such. Should we wait more or go for a second opinion.

If it is a case of cellulitis, it needs intravenous antibiotics, limb elevation, anti inflammatory drugs and Magsulf dressing.
Next Steps
Send the ultrasound report and the picture of the swollen arm or do a video consult so that I can advise you with clarity.

If it's infection, it'll take some time to resolve. Continue the course for a few more days and then go for another checkup. 2 days is too early to see significant changes. Take her to a vascular surgeon for opinion on vascular problems if the symptoms persist.
Next Steps
Continue the antibiotics for 2-3 days more.
