Have undergone cholecystectomy 3 years back, since then I am having this red and swollen scar in the upper stitched area..what should I do?

An exam by a surgeon will help settle the problem. Apparently,a port herniation cant be excluded too esp if  it increases in size on straining

Its probably a hypertropic scar at present... u can try regular massage of the wound with scar reducing ointments or simply with coconut oil... there is also a chance that in early post surgery period the suture put inside (might be vicryl) can cause some local skin reaction till the suture dissolves..
