Hi doctor,
There is a lot of confusion about wearing a supporter during a workout (weight lifting , cardio)
There is this notion that not wearing would lead to
1. Hernia
2. Ball sack will lengthen and testicles will hang loose.
Please shed some light on it..if yes why? And if not needed why?

Bracing or supporting is needed only for certain workouts
Not all workouts needed this
Basically weightlifting needs supports for core muscles
For cardio strapping or bracing to weight loading joints
That is ankle knee can be done for stability and injury prevention
Loose clothing for workout in gyms can be weared but as for supporter you need to wear it if lifting heavy weights for chest and and abdomen only.
Jerks may cause trouble, so be carefull while doing any exercises.
The main aim of supporter is to provide support
And prevent injuries
If u are a heavy lifter the chances of hernia is high due to weak abdominal muscles and the pressure caused by the weight thus supporter provides additional support
During cardio it is recommended as to avoid friction between legs and scrotum
But Yess it does not guarantee results
As supporter as the name suggests supports and tries to keep organs intact in there place
Next Steps
supporter does not cause any harm to body thus you can use it
Health Tips
In gym wear comfortable clothes
Use adequate help of people/supporter whatever u need
Be safe
