Sugar level goes low
My bay is premature and her sugar level went down to 35.. Now she is normal... But can lie sugar level Lead to Permanent damage to brain.. Plz help.. Or learning disabilites

Hypoglycemia is well known complication in premature child... And yes. Hypoglycemia can cause permanent brain damage but the level below which brain damage occurs is not defined till date as it varies child to child.. so as of now you only can weight and watch once he is out of danger your Pediatrician definately get some test it required to assess the brain function.

Low blood sugar is a frequent thing in premature babies. There is a controversy whether low blood sugar causes brain damage or not and if so to what level. Brain damage is more related to time for which blood sugar was low and also symptoms in baby at the time of low blood sugar. As no one can predict anything at this stage it’s better to follow your baby with her developments
Next Steps
Regular (monthly) developmental follow up till 2 yrs of age to catch problems early.
