My husband's sugar is 288... Has been in this range for last 4-5 days...he takes triperide 1 once daily..he is also a smoker..how long should i wait before consulting with the doctor again..what are the chances of him getting insulin dependent..i'm really worried for his health..please advice.

If you have started drugs recently, consult in one or two weeks or earlier if symptoms persist
If 288 is a fasting sugar, then the dosing seems to be less. Anyway, each individual will respond differently to same treatment and further treatment adjustment is individualised based on response.
