Sugar 1+ During Pregnancy

My wife is pregnant and 17 week going on, we had blood sugar and routine urine test in March , Sept , Oct 18 , Sugar was in normal range ( 76-77) and in Urine it was absent. In Nov 18 month Sugar is 1+ in urine. I am worry as she has genetic history of it and what will be the medication during pregnancy. We are happy with our doctor as she said that we need to closely track it. Just posting the same for my satisfaction and clarification.
