The CPAP machine works to cancel out OSA completely from day one of use to the best of it’s capacity depending on patient’s compliance and its proper use . However long term need depends on the severity of disease and other factors such as physical activity & weight loss . For Severe OSA patients the need for CPAP machine is mostly long term.
