Sudden redness in eye during sleep
Hi Doctors, Yesterday during sleep I woke in the middle and saw there is redness in my right eye white portion with irritation. But after sometime after closing my eyes for 30 to 40 minutes the redness was done and irritation was also not there. In the morning I am feeling that my issue happens as I have dry eye already. Can you share some light of what may happen. Is this because of dry eye?

Hello, It could be due to dry eyes that you are feeling redness and irritation in the eyes if you were already diagnosed with it. This is due to abnormalities in the tear film as well as due to reduced secretion of tear or could be due to excessive evaporation of tears.
Next Steps
Kindly consult your nearest ophthalmologist if it worsens and for now you can use refresh tears or softvisc lubricant eyedrops 4 times daily one drop in each eye at a time and avoid exacerbating factors like smoke and prolonged screen time.
