Sudden pain in the entire mouth
My mother has been suffering from pain in the entire mouth, for the last 4-5 days. The pain is not a continuous one. It arises frequently and subsides. Yesterday she visited a dentist, but on doing x-ray nothing such was found. She has been taking Calpol-650 since 2 days, because the pain is acute and leaves her face swollen. The dentist gave her Betadine 2% as of now. But today too, she had to take a calpol. Can there be any other reason for the pain, except for tooth decay or gum problem? Because neither the doctor could detect it nor are the remedies for gum problems working.

Hi,,first of all take painkiller like tablet Zerodol-SP for pain twice daily along with Metrogyl 400 mg thrice daily and Augmentin 625 mg thrice daily after meals if you think there is a swelling in the face. Calpol alone is not going to work at all,,and it must be most probably a decayed tooth or a wisdom tooth(although rare at this age).See another dentist for a second opinion,,donot chew from affected side,,also donot do any hot fomentation on the face as it shall aggravate the swelling.
