Hi. Regarding why this happened, this can be due to muscle tightness or a disc pressing on the nerve. But this can be confirmed only with further detailed history and assessment. A change in the medicine might be required. Also, please check your Vitamin D and B12 levels. You can stop your stretching exercises for now as it can aggravate your pain. Please consult a nearby physiotherapist for the same.

Stretching of your face? Is there any tingling or numbness of your face, any similar symptoms of your tongue? How is your speech, vision, strength of arm and leg.... I have seen pain or sensation along forehead but havent come across stretching. However if you have any of the above, get checked immediately... It is hard to diagnose until you have a consultation.... if it is a neurological or musculoskeletal problem....
Next Steps
Do an consultation with a general practitioner.....rule out a neurological problem.
Health Tips
after you have ruled that out have a physiotherapist consultation.
