Stomach tightness and
Title: Upper abdominal pain and frequent stools for 1.5 years
Hello Doctor,
I have been experiencing upper abdominal discomfort for the past 1.5 years.
My symptoms:
Upper abdominal pain/tightness and occasional chest discomfort.
The pain is usually not present when I lie down.
I pass stools up to 3 times a day, usually formed.
No significant weight loss.
These symptoms have been persistent for about 18 months.
Investigations done:
Stool test was done about a year ago and was normal.
Heart tests (ECG, TMT, and 2D Echo) were normal.
. U/S sound test also done one year back.
Could this be due to gastritis, GERD, IBS, or another gastrointestinal condition? What investigations would you recommend?
Even though I am using medicine it is not a cure.

1.5 years without a clear diagnosis suggests functional dyspepsia or H. pylori gastritis that hasn't been tested for. Cardiac causes are ruled out which is good. The key missing test here is an upper GI endoscopy â 1.5 years of symptoms needs a scope to rule out gastritis, peptic ulcer, or other pathology properly.
Next Steps

Upper abdominal pain could be due to multiple reasons.
Kindly post the investigation reports done before.
Currently we need to evaluate clinically with repeat imaging -USG abdomen to start with.
May need upper GI endoscopy based on clinical history and examination.
