STD Testing timeline
I got diagnosed with trichomonas and uti after a sexual exposure that happened on 4 & 5 July. I tested for STDs on the 4th October and all were negative. The tests were HIV 1/2 & P24 combo, RPR, TPHA, HBsAg antigen and HCV antibody. Is this conclusive or do I need to test again?

Your October 4th panel covers the standard STD screen well. For HIV and syphilis, a negative result done three months after exposure is considered conclusive and doesn't usually need repeating. Hepatitis B and C can occasionally take a little longer to show up on antibody tests.
Next Steps
If your exposure carried any risk for Hepatitis C specifically, your doctor may suggest one repeat HCV antibody test around the six month mark, just to be thorough. Otherwise, with trichomonas and the UTI already treated, this panel is reassuring and you don't need to retest everything again.
Health Tips
Please discuss this with your gynaecologist, since your specific exposure details can change how much repeat testing is actually needed.
