Sprained ankle & swelling.
While getting down the staircase of metro station yesterday night & my right foot slipped and the palm of the foot got twisted and my ankle started hurting badly due to the sprain. I  somehow managed to travel in this situation. It swelled a little last night. But today the swelling is more as pointed in the picture. And it is also paining when i walk. No sideways movement of the foot possible and also the swelled area pains when poked. The swelling is in the front and Bottom of the ankle and not on the top and back of the ankle. The treatment for you is RICE Rest - do not walk or stand unless it is must. Ice - apply ice bag or crushed ice round the clock. Compression - tie elastocrepe ( pink color elastic bandage) medium compression in the day time and mild compression in the night time.keeo it for 3-5 days until pain resolves. Elevation - keep the leg on 2 pillows kept vertically for  next 2 day. If need you can take anti inflammatory medicines ( the one which you normally take) for next 2-3 days.
Next Steps
watch it for 2 days. if pain or swelling doesn't reduce please show it to your orthopedic surgeon.
Health Tips
