Sore throat for a month

I have slight sore throat for a month now. I tried taking cough syrup for a week but did not help much. There is rarely any coughing. And the soreness decreases and increases.

though its difficult to comment without examining your throat its likely that you are suffering from acute pharyngitis or tonsillitis. if you mean throat irritation then its likely to be allergic in origin..in any case treatment depends on examination of your throat, detailed history of your complaints . kindly consult nearby ENT specialist
