A cold with throat pain that's easing in the nose after 2 days usually means a viral infection. Antibiotics like erythromycin won't help a viral sore throat. Erythromycin is one of the antibiotics considered safer in pregnancy, but it's only needed if your throat looks infected or you develop fever.
Next Steps
Keep up warm saltwater gargles, warm fluids and steam inhalation for now. See your obstetrician if the pain doesn't ease in 2 to 3 days or you develop fever, so your throat can be examined before any antibiotic is started.
Health Tips
Please don't start erythromycin or any other antibiotic on your own during pregnancy without your obstetrician confirming it's needed.
