Can be due to an Apthous ulcer on the side of tongue or cheek. Also need to check if you have a sharp margin of tooth hurting you or an erupting wisdom tooth. If you see white patch, apply Mucopain gel for temporary relief

If the lesion is at the back of the mouth, it would be prudent to visit an ENT specialist or and otorhinolaryngologist for a proper clinical examination to arrive at the right diagnosis of your problem. The right treatment can be instituted only after the right diagnosis has been made. Warm saline gargles can be of some help as a simple remedy but may not provide complete cure. Regards.
