I am Dr. Atul Kumar Nimawat, MS ENT. The sensation of “something stuck in the throat” without pain or difficulty in swallowing, which temporarily improves after drinking water or eating, is commonly due to a condition called Globus pharyngeus (globus sensation). This is usually related to mild throat inflammation, post-nasal drip, acid reflux (GERD), or sometimes anxiety/stress factors, rather than an actual obstruction.
Health Tips
Most cases are benign and improve with simple lifestyle modifications and treatment of underlying cause.
