Best weaning diet single cereals either Ragi or Rice You can start  Ragi initially  2 to 3 spoons once a day daily for first 2 weeks based on tolerance  you can increase quantity and times of feed Then introduce other cereal rice same like ragi step up  for 15 days By 7 th month  you can start vegetables and increase the calories by adding ghee and jaggery

Between 6-8 month Complementary  foods (semi solid) should  be  introduced  by   6  months,  beginning with  pureed  foods.  Baby   should  be  offered  2-3  meals per day  plus  frequent  breastfeeds/formula feed.  If  required  an additional 1-2  snacks  may  be  given including fruits Amount  of  food  offered  should  be  around  3-4  Tablespoons  or half  of  a  250  ml cup. Can give anything that suits culturally , important  to note is ,it should be given in mashed form and bit in liquid form initially Salt load should less/ no honey and juice Pureed fruits can be added in diet .
