Taking Tab Alprazolam for long duration is not safe as there is risk of tolerance and consequently dependence over same. It's in your best interest if you consult a Psychiatrist and get yourself started on some medication which are safer in long term and treats the root cause of insomnia.

Alprazolam will not help to maintain sleep hygiene . You have to maintain your sleep hygiene first.0.25 Alprazolam will not make any sense rather it will lead to tolerance and high doses will be required in due course. Once visit a psychiatrist to confirm your diagnosis till then follow the steps of sleep hygiene.

Do not continue tab Alprazolam on your own it is only an anxiolytic and helps you initiate sleep but has no role in sleep maintenance you need to follow sleep hygiene strictly yet if there is no relief consult psychiatrist
