Single parent issue
I am divorced single mother and my son is 5 years old. My ex husband ask me to meet him but I am not confused if I should allow him to meet as he left us alone when my son was 1 year old. He is a cross dresser and when I came to know about it I moved out of marriage. For 3-4 years he didnt bother meeting our son as he was not willing to take up hard work related to kids. Now mu son is 5 yrs old so he wants to meet him, and my son also misses him sometimes but not much. Should I make my son meet his father?

I understand your situation . But there is very little for me in this as a psychiatrist.. but as a human being i would say your son will be more proud of you and himself if he is allowed to meet his father ,; only if he wishes to . My opinion is not upon the legality of the issue , but personal

Hi there, Since you are legally divorced, it will be better if you should take the help of a legal expert.I’m sure even court lets the father to interact with the child with some term and conditions. We are all human beings and human emotions change with time, experiences and maturity.
Next Steps
So take the help from a legal expert and a mental health professional ( may be a child psychologist if possible). Do involve your family members and friends in such issues.
