Hello,
Anti Hypertensive medicines are usually to be taken lifelong. The medicines and doses may change from time to time with doctor's advice. As far as telmisartan 40 mg is concerned, you can safely take it lifelong if needed. Do not focus on minor side effect, rather focus on its major benefit of keeping your BP in control which saves you from future heart attack, stroke and kidney problems
