I wanted to understand if there are hormonal or psychological effects of using the levonorgestrel/ethinylestradiol combination as a pill for PCOD symptoms. It appears like ever since I started the pill since last July 2020 ,ive been unusually anxious, depressed and have crying bouts for no reason. I also find myself unusually emotional and sensitive and get triggered easily. I went for therapy assuming that would help .. before I considered this as an issue..but there seems to be no end to the negative emotions. I'm unsure if this is the reason and thought it could help to ask opinions here. Thank you so much for you help!

Hello! I'm Dr. Aditya and I understand what you are asking. The pill has hormones and so it does have an effect on emotions due to changes in the blood levels. If you answered some questions, it would be easier for me to help you.
Do you have any other physical symptoms? Especially with your periods, headache episodes, abnormal vision?
Have you been diagnosed with PCOD by a doctor? And what other medications have you been taking?
Have you ever done hormone level tests?
