Should we take Prednisolone for Hyposmia
I had covid and smell loss in December but recovered completely in Jan. Again on 29Jan I started having covid like symptoms and smell loss without taste loss Now it's been 21days I still have Hyposmia, I have been prescribed Prednisolone 40mg daily, should I take it? Because I feel I have long covid and Prednisolone can cause my Immune System to dial down

Steroid may be avoided.. The anosmia could be due to other causes apart from covid also.. Like in common cold and sinusitis.. Please consult online for further evaluation and treatment

Steroids may be given, but after proper clinical and radiological assessment of the problem. However, it needs to be given at a much higher dose and for a short period and then tapered down over next 3 -4 days
