Shortness of breath
Sir/ma'am My grandfather was treated for oral scc of buccal mucosa stage 4 A 2 years ago . His routine test cect of head neck is normal, 3D echo is normal blood test also normal.Recently he has started noticing that whenever he walks for long or climb stairs, he run short of breath. He is able to carry out his day to day task and being aged 72 he is still able to climb 3 floors in the house but runs shortness of breath. Is this indicative of cancer occurance in lungs? He has no symptom such as no cough no blood from mouth etc. kindly guide future course of action. Thanks.

There could be multiple reasons for the breathing difficulties he is having . Since he is a cancer survivor, he should investigated with imaging CT scan of chest , if that is negative he should be investigated for other pulmonary causes of breathing difficulties .

There may be many reasons for shortness of breath. It may not necessarily mean cancer recurrence. Does he have any history of asthma, smoking or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease)?
Next Steps
Get a chest X ray. It will pick up any major abnormality . If anything suspicious on CXR , get CT chest. If chest x ray is normal - meet a pulmonologist.

Hi     You need to get PETCT done to see wether cancer has spread to lungs or not. Are there any lesions in oral.cavity or any swellings in neck region
