Ive been having a sharp pain on my right side above my hip that runs across where my uterus would be and i just started my period but ive never had this pain before

It may be due to many causes: ectopic pregnancy ( if chances of pregnancy r there ectopic must be ruled out), menstrual spasmodic pain, appendicitis, infections, urinary tract infection, ureteric colic n etc U need to consult a doctor ( gynecologist/ surgeon) if its very severe. Meanwhile u can take tab. meftal spas 1 or tab. thrice a day or tab drotin ds twice a day.
