Greetings Most minor childhood head bumps do not cause internal complications, and the fact that she has been playful and symptom-free for 19 hours is highly reassuring.its recommend monitoring a child closely for a full 24 to 48 hours following any head trauma to look for delayed symptoms. You should watch for red flags, which can include repeated vomiting, extreme drowsiness, difficulty waking up, unusual irritability, or worsening balance.

Immediately you have to observe for pain, crying, loss of senses, responsiveness, headaches, vomiting and seizures. Swelling and bleeding can be seen. Usually observation may be required for 48 hours if the baby shows any of the above symptoms and signs. If in 6-8 hours no serious symptoms develop it is only home observation.

At 19 hours after the injury, the fact that your baby did not lose consciousness, did not cry excessively, remains playful, and has already been examined by a pediatrician with no visible wound is reassuring.
