Severe isolated anosmia
My mother has severe isolated anosmia and no sense of taste without congestion and other symptoms.what is the disease?is it cureable?

loss of taste can be secondary to anosmia. MRI may at times give a diagnosis for anosmia.

Anosmia can occur because of various reasons such as Post viral neural injury, head injury, nasal polyps, skull base tumors, and many times no cause can be identified. She may need to undergo diagnostic nasal endoscopy and CT scan of paranasal sinuses for identification of cause
