Severe hair loss
I have been facing this problem of hair fall from past 4 years.Since childhood I had thin hair (density wise as well as the hair type) but as I turned 18 it started getting worse. I have extremely thin hair on the top of my head and a lot of scalp is visible especially in the crown area.Initially I was taking homeopathy treatment but after 2 years into the treatment I didn't find it as effective as the initial 2 years.I have recently stopped the homeopathy treatment and thinking about the prp treatment.Would it help ? I also take iron supplements (Autrin - 1 a day) as it was advised by the doctor, have been taking this for a long time now . As soon as I stop taking iron supplements the hair loss gets worse. Initially I was told its CTE but I think it has progressed to female pattern baldness. Is there any treatment that would help me improve the quality of my hair as well as reduce hair fall ? Any suggestions on where to get prp treatment in Hyderabad. Thanks.

Thanks for the query. The usual treatment options are topical lotion (Minoxidil) and supplements. Based on the cause of hair loss, certain specific medications can also be started. It also depends on the age of the patient and if planning for conception or not. Various issues need to be decided before initiating the treatment. The dosage and duration is decided by your dermatologist. You need to be patient with the treatment protocol as it takes months to see initial improvement. PRP is a promising option and sessions need to be repeated at 6 weeks interval. For good results, minimum 4 sessions are required and medical therapy is continued. Each session can cost you around Rs 7000-10000 depending on the place you get it done.
