  4. Severe dry cough. Hasn't worked at all.

What tests would you suggest for a patient with severe dry cough since last many years when the x-ray reports of chest has come normal many times. The patient is also allergic to dust and hair dye. The dry cough syrups hasn't worked at all.

The detailed evaluation of cough is needed. How ever for chronic dry cough AEC, PFT, serum IgE, CBC are primary investigations. Of any abonormality detected then further evaluation is needed.
