Hello Doctor,
I am 20 years old female. I have active pulmonary tuberculosis, it's been 1.5 months being under the treatment of the same. In the x ray, doctors told that 70% lung is damaged and I have large lung cavities. At present I am having severe cough(white color) at the very extreme level. I feel tired all the time, while standing I feel like sitting. During the walk or any physical activity makes me feel tired. I wanted to ask you, that since it's been 1.5 months for me under the treatment, should the severe cough might have gone by this time? Also will it be ever possible that my lung could come back in shape again with no cavities (normal the way it was earlier) ? Also I feel extreme tiredness, is it because of the anti tuberculosis medicine?

Hey. So to answer you completely I will need more info. But in general if the lung is 70% damaged, it will take a longer time for u to see change in lung. how much lung damage is reversible I can say only after seeing the images of CT .
the cough should have decreased by now even if you were MDR . so will need to review the reports and treatment to give a more comprehensive answer.

Hi dear
it happens many times that tubercular cavities takes time to heal and sometimes they don't heal at all but it if you are symptomatic even after one and half month of treatment you should consult a pulmonologist for better management
