IBS IS A PSYCHOSOMATIC DISORDER. SO IT IS NECESSARY TO START WITH MEDICINES WHICH CAN TAKE CARE OF YOUR MENTAL HEALTH AS WELL AS PHYSICAL HEALTH. SECONDLY IT IS NECESSARY TO FOLLOW DIET PLAN. AVOID TEA COFFEE AND AERATED DRINKS. AVOID SPICY OILY AND JUNK FOOD.THIRDLY IT IS NECESSARY TO CONTINUE MEDICINES FOR ATLEAST 3 MONTHS TO AVOID RELAPSE. THERE IS NO FIX PROTOCOL FOR AYURVEDIC MEDICINES. THEY ARE PRISCRIBED ACCORDING TO HEALTH PRAKRITI AND STAGE OF DISEASE. SO IT WOULD BE BETTER TO DESCRIBE ALL YOUR SYMPTOMS IN DETAIL BEFORE STARTING ANY MEDICATIONS.

I totally agree with Dr. Ankur Singhal.  The nature of the disease varies with the prakriti of individual.  You should take guidance personally.
