Seeking Medical termination of pregnancy
I missed my periods which were due on the 5th of April. I went in for a pregnancy test which came back positive. I got an ultrasonography done which confirmed that I am 5 weeks along. I am 23 years old, student and unmarried. I am seeking a medical abortion. However, I have borderline levels of von Willebrand factor with mild risk of bleeding. There are surgeries for abortion but I cannot afford a huge amount. So what should I go in for? Will pills be a safe bet?

Hello there. I can understand your concern. For 5 weeks of pregnancy, even if you want surgery, they won't be done unless there is a need for surgery. It will be done using pills. So get yourself checked out by a gynaecologist in person for further evaluation and management. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain. Bangalore.
