Thank you for your question. A urine pregnancy test done with an early morning sample can now be done at home with a kit purchased from your local pharmacy. A blood test is usually requested if the urine test is not in keeping with the missed period but the symptoms suggest a pregnancy is likely but its location is not certain. If your urine pregnancy test is positive your gynaecologist can refer you for an ultrasound scan to determine the gestational age as well as the location of the pregnancy as intrauterine. best wishes
