My mother has glaucoma, and she has now lost around 70% of her vision in one eye. Several eye doctors have told us that the vision loss cannot be reversed.
I would like to know how we can best take care of her condition and protect the vision she still has. Are there any treatments, procedures, lifestyle changes, or other options that could help prevent further vision loss?
I would really appreciate advice from ophthalmologists or anyone with experience dealing with advanced glaucoma. Thank you.
Glaucoma vision loss is usually irreversible, but further loss can often be prevented. She should see a glaucoma specialist, keep IOP well controlled with regular drops, and consider laser or surgery if drops are insufficient. Regular monitoring of IOP, OCT and visual fields is essential.

Glaucoma causes irreversible loss of vision. U have to protect vision remaining at present for that consult an ophthalmologist. Do glaucoma work up which includes perimetery, gonioscopy, OCT disc and RNFL and Anterior OCT every year. Regular eye pressure check up and perimetry test every three months is required.
If the intraocular pressure is maintained with the eyedrops then she need to use eyedrops life long to prevent further damage, if with eyedrops pressure is not maintained then she will need surgery. Get complete examination done every 6 months
Glaucoma is occurs due to the high pressure in the eye which causes the nerve loss
So whatever the last cannot be recovered but maintaining the pressure in the eye with regular drops and follow up main helpful for maintaining the remaining vision
Please concern for proper guidance and treatment
Ya vision loss due to glaucoma is irreversible.but you can go for regular follow up .in each visit follow up scans for glaucoma to be done .& Strict antiglaucoma medications
Vision loss due to glaucoma is irreversible but we can prevent the residual vision. Anti glaucoma medications to be started for maintaining the IOP within normal limits after proper Glaucoma workup done by consulting ophthalmologist
You have to maintain the intraocular pressure to prevent further vision loss
Regular follow ups for IOP monitoring are necessary along with investigations to know the situation
