Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder
My Father is suffering from Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (illness as described by Govt. Doctor) for the past 1.5 years. Continuous hearing voices with bad words and abusive language from his nephew and brother & hallucinations. He is on medication but due to this he has lost weight and continuously sleeps day and night. Very dull, uninterested in any activity, no talking with outsiders, relatives and friends. We did MRI scan also but nothing significant found in the reports. Was kept under observation at Specialist Dr. Shah (Chembur) but no significant improvement seen in him. His memory is sharp but he is walking whole day at home if not sleeping otherwise he is sleeping whole day. No reading of newspaper, watching tv, no interest at all in any of the activity at home. No strength and lot of weakness. Doctors have tried many medicines but no effect on his mental health. He thinks a lot but never shares what he is thinking. He gets irritated if we ask him. Need help.
