Scared of Black Fungus
I have got discharged from hospital for covid treatment 4 weeks ago, My diabetes are now on control. Steroids given to me stopped two weeks ago, Is I am still risk of black fungus? Please tell.

Hi, Don't panic, as long as your blood sugar levels are in control you are usually safe only minimum risk, check your fasting and PP sugar every alternate day and consult for further treatment.

Cause for black are multiple and diabetes is just one. If sugars are fine nothing to worry. Not every one with covid is not at high risk for black fungus.

As you are diabetic and post covid on steroids, you should be cautious about any opportunistic infections Follow safety measures and immunity boosting activity. Wear mask , wash hand frequently, don’t handle mud ,sand and don’t expose to dust. Consult for further details on Practo.

Optimal glycaemic control will decrease risk of fungal infections.. Still u have to continue sanitary measures and social distancing.
