If you feel that the cat might have contaminated the food, kindly discard it. Rabies or not is the second thing. Animal saliva has infection causing organisms. Now come to the Rabies, animal with active Rabies signs can't eat or drink due to their throat paralysis. If the cat didn't try to attack you or didn't have excessive salivation, then the chances of a cat having an active Rabies virus in their salivation is almost nill.

Please don't worry this is not how rabies spreads. The environment isn't suitable for the virus to act. Also, you saw the animal , if you didn't observe common signs of rabies like hypersalivation or  aggressive behaviour it is most likely not infected with rabies.

Rabies virus wont survive in environment..so dont worry..even if cat licks food nothing should happen..if only Rabid cat bites and if virus enters your body through that bite then it is worrisome..
