Anxiety related ...fear of rabies
I was taking care of 3 kittens for last 3 days ...the mother cat was found dead ...we don't know how it died ...we fed the kittens milk thru syringe and bottles ... Now I have anxiety what if the mother died of rabies and she passed it to her kids ...the kittens were 3 to 4 weeks old ...they looked quite healthy and active ...they did not bite me ..too tiny teeth...but their nails were too long...they did not scratch but I feel what if they had scratched ... The second question is I washed their milk bottles in my bathroom...is there possibility of the water getting contaminated with rabies virus n possibility of it entering our bodies... I have taken rabies vaccine last yr in May 2022 N also april 2021 ...due to same anxiety issues related to touching animals and taking care ... Also 10 days back at kaziranga national park ...I fed an elephant ...its saliva was on my hands ...I washed it with soap n water after 20 mins ...so will that too cause rabies if the elephant had that virus

1. So far, there is no report of a less than a month old kittens has rabies like that. Even if your fear is correct, then kittens will not be healthy by this time. 2. There is no possibility of rabies virus getting into the system via vessel, etc. It is not a contagious disease. It needs direct contact with a bleeding wound from the saliva. 3. National Park animals are well maintained, so don't worry about that. Even simple sickness they are monitored by their medical team.

No, none of the above instances indicate that you are in any state to contract rabies. Though you are not sure the cat died of rabies, even if she did, it is not passed on like that. Had she bit the kittens then we could say there are chances. Also, affected kitten would’ve shown signs. Washing their feeders/ bowls/ bottles doesn’t transmit the virus. Neither does saliva of animals on intact skin. Had an animal licked you on an open wound then you would have to get vaccinated.
