Saheli is started from first day of the menstrual cycle. It acts by preventing implementation of ovum. Since it is started from day 1 of the cycle and we know that ovum is released in the mid cycle, so by the time the ovum is released you have already taken 4 tablets and they have already acted on the uterus. So it should be effective from the very first cycle you are taking Saheli.
However, like for all other contraceptives, if you are overdue inspite of Saheli , please get urine pregnancy test done. After all it also has some failure rate even though it is very small.
