I have a rod in my left leg (tibia fracture) and I want to it removed as it causes pain in my leg sometimes.
- How much time will it take to recover from the removal surgery?
- What could be the post-surgery complications?
- is it fine if I get rid of only the screws?

If you get screws removed then rod should be removed along. Can't leave nail inside once you opt for screw removal.
One has to be very careful of a fracture in the screw slots. Although you can by partially bearing weight from next day of surgery. Falls should be prevented.
Sports should be started 1 month post surgery .
Full weight bearing is started 2 weeks post surgery .
