Right knee pain
I tore my meniscus about a year ago. My knee has been giving me problems. MRI showed internal dereangment of the knee but the specialist I was sent to refused to do anything. Now my knee for the past 2 weeks my knee has been locking up, and giving out. Everytime I move my knee you can feel and hear it click and pop. The pain is getting worse not quite unbearable yet. I'd say on a 1-10 scale 1 being no pain and 10 being the worst I would say 7 1/2 to 8. I've been talking over the counter pain relievers and I have a compression brace on it. And I have iced it and elevated it. None of these things seem to be helping. What should I do?

Locking of knee is a strong sign of meniscal tear and "giving out" means an ACL tear. which requires MIR evaluation followed by Arthroscoppic procedure and menisectomy and ACL reconstruction. Do consult an orthopaedic surgeon preferably Arthroscopy specialist.

You should take a second opinion. From your condition it's clear that your symptoms are not getting better with conservative treatment. I strongly suggest a diagnostic arthroscopy. In the same procedure meniscus balancing cam be done. We even sometimes find ligament tears which were not visible in MRI.
Next Steps
Go to an orthopaedic surgeon who is good in arthroscopy.
Health Tips
You should get a fresh MRI done.
